Worship is central to the Christian experience and vital to continued spiritual health and development. God has been calling me to expand on the preaching component of worship, not preaching time, but in the area of preparation. The preparation of a sermon is much richer and more beneficial when done by a group of individuals, therefore, I've created this blog for that purpose - collective creative worship design.
I'll be posting upcoming series and sermons for your prayerful consideration and input. I don't have all the details worked out yet so I'm counting on some of you to help in that as well.
Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions you might have.
I'm excited about the process!

I think you are right on in focusing more and more on prep for Sunday morning. As we move forward and you start to back away from some of these other roles you will have a chance to take the next step in preaching Sunday mornings.
ReplyDeleteYou are already an extremely effective communicator, but when I think about the churches that are really experiencing growth I know that the senior pastors there devote much more of their time to Sunday morning prep. I think one key to church growth is powerful, challenging, and relevant messages. Moving forward I see your role as a visionary/passionate leader and speaker becoming much more significant than ever before.
I don't think you will really have to change much about what you do because you already do it so well. But I know for sure that keener focus and increasing dependence on the Holy Spirit is going to do things out of your messages that you probably never thought you'd see. I've already seen a powerful movement of God just since Easter coming out of you. It is that power that will be the draw I think, even more than small groups or serving the community.
Sweet! I'm a blogger!!
ReplyDeleteOne point of consideration for me, am I becoming less or more dependent upon the Holy Spirit by utilizing team preparation?
ReplyDeleteWelcome Bubbles, you're a big girl now!
