Father's Day Is June 20

I was worng, Father's day isn't the 13th - its June 20 so change the content of the two previous posts. Sorry

Sermon June 20

I'm trying to get this info out to you far enough in advance so you can have time to prayerfully consider content.

The focus this week is on activating my gifts as a positive means of increasing my influence for Christ. I'm thinking of Luke 11:33-36, let the light of Christ shine brightly in you???????

Not sure, could come from the angle of the gifts of the Spirit as in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11?????

The reality is as Christians we receive a gift/gifts from the Holy spirit, how to we activate them?? Like getting a new credit card in the mail, it has all the benefits but those aren't available until its activated.........

That's where I'm at for now....... HELP

Sermon June 13

We're two weeks away from Father's Day and the next sermon I'll be preaching - Doug is preaching on the 6th.

I wanted to get the basic information to you for creative consideration keeping in mind our current series on influence and Father's Day.

So let those creative ideas flow around the concept of increasing my influence for Chirst by..........having an intentional influence plan.

Effective Father's have an intentional plan as to how they want to influence their child/children. Our Heavenly Father had an intentional influence plan---what is yours?

The message should encourage each person to have an intentional plan and should include a possible plan of action.

Preaching Series Ideas

With the now certain postponing of FIN to 2011 we are in need of a preaching series to replace FIN.
I wanted to open up the opportunity to post your suggestions of a beneficial series as you see the need. This could be 4 - 8 weeks long depending on the theme.

Next Sermon Series Intro

The next preaching series begins May 23, current title (up for debate) increasing your influence. The outcome for this series is to help the congregation realize the awesome influence believers have as a result of their relationship with God/Christ, and we called to be influencers. We'll review the lives of various biblical characters of influence with the hope we will be inspired to become persons of influence.
My goal is to have the first week's text and outline to you later today so we can begin the creative process on a very small scale, just a first step to try it out.
My hope is we can have a smooth process going by the first part of June??????

Getting Connected

Worship is central to the Christian experience and vital to continued spiritual health and development. God has been calling me to expand on the preaching component of worship, not preaching time, but in the area of preparation. The preparation of a sermon is much richer and more beneficial when done by a group of individuals, therefore, I've created this blog for that purpose - collective creative worship design.
I'll be posting upcoming series and sermons for your prayerful consideration and input. I don't have all the details worked out yet so I'm counting on some of you to help in that as well.
Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions you might have.
